Housebound

We were housebound this week - Little Man has been sick - I have to say we are lucky - even when sick Little Man is a pretty happy baby - he just sleeps more ( which is usually a tell tell sign for us that he is not feeling well - the boy does NOT like to nap).

We are on meds for the next two weeks - and have weekly checkups - but Little Man does not seem too worried about it all........

Just the right book

Finding just the right book for bedtime takes a lot of work. First we need to check out our options for the night...

Then a closer exam is needed...

A taste test must also be preformed (bc what do we NOT put into our mouth?)...

And before we are ready to settle down for story time - Mr Independent like to read it himself a few times...

And well this picture - how can you just not love that face?!?!

A Boy and a Box

Fisher Price can not even come close to this amount of fun ....

Socks

Carter in the middle of a meltdown bc he had to wear socks ...

But then he realized maybe all was not lost...

He could still chew on his toes with those pesky things on...

And life was good again in the Cude household !

Going Bananas

I have learned that when your pediatrician tells you that it might take multiple times before your child will like the taste or texture of a new food- they are not exaggerating. Our current experiment has been bananas. Now the first time I gave Carter a real banana ( he loves his Gerber ones!) - he touched it -looked at me- and started to cry. Over time we have made progress (he will pick it up) but mostly we just end up with a huge mess and nothing actually consumed. For some reason I decided lets try it again tonight....

He picked it up - I was praising him just for that !

And then I got this face - and figured we were done for the night ....

But he decided he needed to check it out a little bit more ...

And he remembered how much he liked to squish ...

And we tried it again ( all mushy) ...

And then went bananas for bananas !!!

Working on the $$$ Smile

We have been brushing Carter's teeth for awhile now. But since he only had 2 on the bottom we used the baby toothbrush you could slide on your finger. Well our little man has 4 of his top teeth coming in at once, so we decided it was time to upgrade to a real toothbrush ( and I got tired of having my finger constantly bit!)

Carter was all about doing it himself

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday - has a new meaning in our house. Matthew and Carter watched football all day Sunday while I worked on getting this blog set up. Carter was very excited the Texans won

and wanted to show his Daddy his tackling skills ... Later Carter decided to cruise the kitchen- his favorite room in the house
And after making sure he had his reserves in hand
He and Daddy settled down for the SNF game

FINALLY - after much debate and waiting - Zach had his 1st tooth pulled .... what a smile !

September in a Sanpshot ....

September Craziness

September started off with such grand plans. I have to take 2 consecutive weeks off of work each year ( terrible I know). We figured we would start by taking Mimi up on her babysitting services and Matthew and I would head to Chicago for Labor Day (my Birthday! ) weekend. And then I would spend the rest of my vacation finishing some projects up around the house.

Our little man had other plans....

• Trip to Chicago (minus children ) - CANCELED
• 911 call and 1st ride in ambulance - scheduled by Carter
• home 5 days with a child with a temp of 104+ - again scheduled by Carter
• Taking Mimi up on a night of babysitting for ADULT ONLY dinner
• Finding out we have a FLIRT on our hands - hanging out with PawPaw and Mimi at the fairgrounds
• Granny Tribble's Birthday
• Trying to decided if we will be a golfer or monkey for Halloween
• Finding out that we have a model on our hands - Halloween pics are hanging up in the Galleria Picture People Studio
• Breakfast with Great Grandpa Turner
• Cashing in on my Mother's Day gift - a trip to Vegas with Mimi and Aunt Kerri (NO CHILDREN or HUSBANDS!)
• Breakfast with PawPaw Cude and Nana
• Another trip to TCH - this one planned - to take adenoids out and put tubes in
• Throw in some playing -find out what Puffs are ( and demanding them at every meal!) - bath time - very, very little napping and getting zero home improvement projects finished - we had a full September

It is about time .....

So for months now Matthew has been asking me " why don't we start a blog ?" And as much as I love reading our family and friends blogs - I asked myself, when would we ( i.e. I ) have time ??
And so on this dreary Sunday, I figured I would make an attempt. Now just getting the site set up has taken a little longer than I thought, my little "helper" seems to make simple things take 3X longer.

So here it goes, We thought we would start with a recap of September ( a busy month in our household)
